Tonight Rafael Nadal became the 7th man to win a Career Grand Slam! He won confidently after extensive rallies against Novak Djokovic, to whom he had previously lost in their 3 hard court matches.

In a series of 20+ shot rallies, impossible hard court slides and stretches, both players performed quite a spectacle at Arthur Ashe Stadium. Novak dug himself out of 20 break points and drove a bunch of flat forehands in the corners and beside the lines. But that wasn’t enough to overcome Nadal’s top spins, wide serves and mean slices.

The final that many expected to be between Federer and Nadal, proved a worthy and entertaining match nonetheless. After a 5-setter the day before against Federer and a 4-setter against Nadal today, Djokovic will play in Davis Cup this Friday!
