His 6-2, 6-2 winning scores with Tomas Berdych made a bang in tennis world and sealed his year-end number one ranking. Djokovic mentioned that being in number one spot is the pinnacle of the sport and it was challenging and definitely a difficult one to maintain and to be on this spot, you need to be unfailingly healthy and effective. Djokovic got his trophy and US$1.92 million cheque but in point of fact this is not the way he likes to win as he feels sorry for Roger. He has been a great competitor and always gives his 101 percent when playing. “I’m not the kind of player to celebrate these wins, but I have to celebrate the whole season and this trophy is the crown on the season,” he added. He laso said “I believe everything happens for a reason. So I’m here for a reason, and I managed to finish the year as No. 1 for a reason,”
The 2011 champion and master Roger Federer won against the talented 176th ranked Lucas Pouille in straight sets with 6-4, 6-4 scores and will forward to quarter finals of the Paris Masters together with master Novak Djokovic .
