Truly year 2013 is Rafael Nadal’s moment to shine! Year 2013 has been a great one for him and he cannot count up his blessings any longer. In commemoration of the paper Marca.com 75 years, Rafael Nadal was chosen by their readers as the Greatest Spanish Athlete of All-Time or the “Legend Award” on night of Tuesday at Marca’s silver anniversary gala in Madrid. Rafael Nadal received a 25.6 per cent of full amount votes while the amazing Miguel Indurain on second rank along with NBA star Pau Gasol on third place.

Rafael Nadal speech was “I would like to thank everyone behind me and all those who aren’t here tonight because as well as tennis, I’m mad about sport in general,” Nadal said. “I have had some unforgettable afternoons thanks to all those who have taken Spain to the highest level in sport. Thank you so much because that excitement is what makes sport feel different.”

Rafael Nadal deserved this award as he showed exemplary performance that his fans beyond doubt enjoyed. He is a big example of a sportsman and everyone is more excited on what 2014 brings him. No one can own this title but him Vamos Rafa!

The Biggest Rivalry: Rafael Nadal VS Roger Federer

The elite season finale presents us the biggest rivalry in the world of tennis over the past decade and all the fans were thrilled and can’t wait for the result. The match gave us 7-5, 6-3 incredible scores of Nadal and Federer on Sunday afternoon at the World Tour Finals at London’s O2 Arena. Some says it is in fact a clash of the titans but without a doubt Nadal gave his 101% performance for his win. Furthermore in the game, Nadal showed his solid shots and Federer could not come up with it. He made an effort to stay consistent but had a hard time truly Nadal deserved his win. He defended his title and won over the marvelous Rafael Nadal in Beijing, China. Of course playing and giving his very best is one of his many weapons. We all know that in order for Novak Djokovic to succeed he must be successful and get the Beijing title and keep hold of his ATP ranking score.

Knowing that Nadal has been healthy playing tennis in years counting his win at the French Open, 21 straight hard-court matches as well as the US Open, without doubt Novak Djokovic will have a hard time defending his title. Is he really losing his top ranking? Will he ever get it back? Novak mentioned in an interview on Saturday that as long as there is an option he will not give up and go on with fighting for the title. “It is not over” he added. Everyone was amazed as the King of New York – Rafael Nadal overpowered Novak Djokovic to be the victor of the US Open for the second time with 6-2, 3-6, 6-4, 6-1. Even if he is playing with the top player in the world of tennis and that player is doing the whole thing right in the court, he will shock you with his power of hitting the tennis ball and return it effortlessly. Having thirteen glam slam titles, will you be of the same opinion that he is without a doubt the greatest male tennis player of all time?

He took seven months to rest because of his knee injury, and who would have thought that it was his way to success and that he will improved and play better than ever. Nadal also mentioned in an interview that he had to be almost perfect to win the game – “It means a lot for me have this trophy with me today. It’s just amazing. I’m very, very happy, and I just say thank you very much to everybody who helped me to make that possible. It’s a really special moment for me.”

Strategy wise, he really fiddles with his performance as well as his movements to strike the ace. Some call him Leonardo da Vinci of Tennis or Albert Einstein of tennis nevertheless Nadal is a great thinker and he really knows how to play his game.

This is his first match since Wimbledon that’s why a lot of of his fans were so eager to watch him and stayed late as they gaze at Novak dance delightfully on Tuesday night. It was a truly an entertaining event and even if he had four weeks off, he still showed a great performance. Djokovic will face Richard Gasquet of France, a 1-6, 6-3, 6-3 winner over ninth-seeded Kei Nishikori.

Rafael Nadal also ace it after complex matches. Is this by chance or fate? Rafael Nadal crushed Poland’s Jerzy Janowicz 7-6 (7-6), 6-4 as he become the victor of his third round match. He greatly improved his ATP Tour-leading record to 45-3. He mentioned that Janowicz’s serve is huge and that his forehand and backhand can be very dangerous but of course Rafa Nadal did not lose hope and had a very fine conquest. Nadal will have an exciting match with qualifier Marinko Matosevic, who drive out Benoit Paire 7-6(7), 6-7(10), 6-3 in two and a half hours

 

Is He the Next Big Thing?

This is outrageous news to every tennis fans as Roger Federer lost the game with 6-7, 7-6, 7-5 and 7-6. Everybody was stunned seeing that Sergey Stakhovsky finally got the victory as he let all of us to see his enormous moves on a thrilling day three.  It felt like it is the end of the world for Roger’s supporters. Out of the blue but it is the reality!

Stakhovsky confesses that he is anxious while trying to strike Federer.  At the same time everyone knows how good Roger is in playing tennis so there is a lot pressure on him. He also added that he can finally say to his grandchildren that “his moves are better than Federer and that he have magic hands ha-ha”. In the present day, a lot of Sergey fans are asking is he the next big thing? Can he win his next match?

Despondently, ATP No. 3 fans were disappointed and taken aback but no one can tell what will happen after that. Federer plays without a flaw and we know he will not let this happen again so let’s see on his next match if he can wipe away this terrible moment? Can Federer still win a further Grand Slam? What do you think?

Who is the king of Tennis – Nadal or Djokovic

Your beloved guys’ tennis players Nadal and Djokovic are trending now on Twitter and other social networking sites. Who among you have seen this nerve-wrecking and jaw-dropping moment on their showdown? Are you Team Rafa or Team Novak?

C’mon, both are beyond awesome players so it’s definitely worth-watching. But if you miss it, you’re losing half of your life.

The Williams Sisters on French Open 2013

The French Open is up and about and can you guess who are going to play at the French Open? Who else but the astonishing Williams sisters – Serena and Venus and they will be partners for the fourth time at Roland Garros. A lot are asking if they are twins, FYI, they aren’t!

They both received wild card that’s why they are in this much awaited tournament. As per records, the sisters already won thirteen grand slams from the doubles.  If you can remember, they defeated Hingis and Kournikova last 1999 which opens the door to success. Then last January, they did not have the chance to get the victory over Errani and Vinci.  However, they both participate exceptionally as well as present a marvelous trick at all times that’s why they do not give up regardless of of losing on their last matches.

A total of 14 doubles teams will feed your eyes with remarkable strokes and serves on the upcoming amazing game as they were all awarded wild cards for the French Open. Let’s wait and see if the sisters will prevail particularly Venus as she is much skilled. We wish them good luck!
